Chapman inspires thrilling win, despite furious finish by Windies: 2nd T20 (Auckland)

New Zealand levelled the five-match T20 series 1-1 with a thrilling 3-run win over West Indies in the 2nd T20I at Eden Park, Auckland.

Batting first, New Zealand powered to 207/5 thanks to Mark Chapman’s explosive 78 off 28 balls, Tim Robinson 39 off 25, Devon Conway 16 off 24, Daryl Mitchell 24 off 12 and Glenn Phillips 21* off 15.

West Indies launched a furious late assault in reply — smashing 87 runs in the final 5 overs — with Rovman Powell (45 off 16), Romario Shepherd (34 off 16), Sherfane Rutherford (31 off 20) and Andre Russell (27 off 13) leading the chase, but they fell short at 204/8.

NZ held their nerve at the death, with Mitchell Santner (3/31) and Ish Sodhi (3/39) taking key wickets.
