New Zealand completed a 3–0 series whitewash over England with a thrilling two-wicket victory in the third and final ODI at Sky Stadium, Wellington.
Batting first, England struggled to build partnerships and were bowled out for 222 in 40.2 overs. Jamie Overton top-scored with a fighting 68 off 62 balls, while Harry Brook (42) and Ben Duckett (35) offered brief resistance. New Zealand’s bowlers were excellent once again, led by Blair Tickner (4/64) and Jacob Duffy (3/56), who dismantled the English middle order.
In reply, New Zealand’s chase was anything but smooth. Despite solid starts from Rachin Ravindra (47) and Tom Latham (39), England’s bowlers kept the pressure on, with Reece Topley (3/41) and Gus Atkinson (2/44) making key breakthroughs. However, late heroics from Daryl Mitchell (44) and 9th wicket pair Blair Tickner (18 off 14)* and Zak Foulkes (14 off 11)* guided the hosts home at 226/8 in 44.4 overs, sealing a 3-0 series sweep.
