Noman responds after Muthusamy triggers Pakistan collapse: 1st Test, Day 2 (Lahore)

Pakistan started Day 2 strongly but lost their last 5 wickets for just 16 in a sensational collapse. They were eventually bowled out for 378, adding 65 runs to their overnight total.

The key moment was the superb spell from South African spinner Senuran Muthusamy, who completed a career-best figures of 6/117, including a triple-wicket burst to quickly wrap up the tail.

Salman Ali Agha (93) and Mohammad Rizwan (75) were the main contributors for Pakistan on the day.

In response, South Africa reached 216/6 at stumps, trailing by 162 runs. The Proteas showed resilience with half-centuries from Ryan Rickelton (71) and the unbeaten Tony de Zorzi (81)*. However, Pakistan's spinners, led by Noman Ali, triggered a late-day collapse, leaving the match finely poised going into Day 3.

South Africa 216 for 6 (De Zorzi 81*, Rickelton 71, Noman 4-85) trail Pakistan 378 (Agha 93, Imam 93, Masood 76, Muthusamy 6-117) by 162 runs
